One of our websites has dissapeared from google for all of its keywords, it only shows up for very random and unrelated searches but still ranks well in bing and yahoo.

This could be the widely discussed sandbox problem as its a fairly new site and we have been doing a fair bit of linkbuilding.

The thing is that we still get traffic for related keywords via google images.

Anyone else been in a simmilar situation?

It can be estimated that yes your website is indeed in the Sandbox filter but there is no big deal because thousands of portals have also experienced a similar scenario. It is usually accurate to claim that the more competitive and financially hot terms targeted, the longer Sandbox duration would be like weeks or several months.

Sometimes when you add too many links to your recently launched website, all rankings may disappear in one day but your homepage may still get visitors because of its inner content pages which can help with having traffic from long tail terms searched by surfers. Links plus contents and patience would definitely help.

And a day after my previous post it dissapeared from google again, shows you how vulnerable this business is.

It will settle down soon. It's always a good idea to have more than one major source of traffic if possible...

Same thing happened to one of my new sites, was page 3, then page 8, then completely disapeared, pretty sure it's sandboxed as it is an affiliate site.

Funny thing is webmaster tools are still giving recent impressions and average position data for main term and inner pages, though I can't see any of the pages when I search.

My site is still indexed when checked using site:yourdomain.co.uk, but nowhere to be seen for keyword searches, its on page 1 on both Bing and Yahoo for main keywords?, so they obviously don have a problem with the site....bloody facist google:mad:
