The .org really works well when the subject is one that people expect to find information on - health, work , legal , education etc etc, they have to be strong keyword/s that would get natural lookups and people expecting to get qualified information because they went to the .org extension.
Selling on from that info really works well - perhaps it's just trust but I certainly wouldn't recommend outright commercial terms on the .org
an example of one of mine would be 'NoWinNoFee(dot)org' it's only parked but the selling value would be Info on the subject leading on to legal sales. You also have to remember that the .org is generally far more suited to a Global market. All the sales are listed at DNjournal.com and it's a good place to start as it allows you to see the entire sales history by extension going back to when Ron started the site
