Lots of talk of .org.uk values atm, thought I post this as it indicates what I seemed to be able to shift .org.uk/ me.uk wise and might be of some help to newer domainers (as well as shamelessly promoting my sad blog ).

Good luck with it. I think domain investment advice posts should be of interest to most here. I would say doing YouTube posts as you mention is going to be the best way to get interest.

Here was my comment.

When you look back did you see the full potential or did you take the development as far as you could? If it was to cost you £x to get external resource (developer / designer / partner) to take the site to full potential how would the return have looked then?

As with any business re-investment is a key activity. You have the chance to either re-invest in acquiring new names or taking a chosen name to full potential.

In this day and age Google and the world at large can change at the drop of a hat. By continuing down your current path you are getting out before the risks get too high but also losing any potential high profits!

I would say 50/50. I have to admit some people took domain where I never thought and developed it well. Others screwed it up trying to put their mark on it rather than build on it.

The thing is every domain you choose to develop carried some risk because of various obvious factors, the trick is to minimise this as much as possible with experience, but even then you have to accept losses.
