.org.uk vs .co.uk ?

Just been playing around on Estibot, now i know you can't quite take their estimates as solid valuations but i am concerned that if you take for example collecting.co.uk is coming up at a value of only reg fee but collecting.org.uk is coming up at $2000.

Also like people.co.uk is coming up at $360 now people.org.uk is coming up at a staggering $180,000 (180k) Erm

Am i missing something or is Estibot just way out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Estibot worked out on of my top domains which hits thousands of uniques a day, and million+ of page views each month at about $50-60 I can't remember what it was exactlly.

About as accurate as USAF's bombing. Friendly Fire eh.

I dont know if paying for one is worth while, yes maybe it could help with a sale, not something I have ever done. Has anyone here? Did it ever make a difference to a buyer??

It may make you feel that someone else believes in your product, but one appraisal today could be different in a week/month!

Hi Doodle bug

Although Estibot is not perfect it does have its uses, I find their keyword parser excellent when needing to strip domains down to there keywords

I think the problem you have experienced lies with a bug in the single appraisals section where it cannot distinguish between .org and .org.uk

I ran them through the bulk appraisal and this was what came up


Domain......................Appraisal
people.co.uk...............$120,000
people.org.uk..............$80
people.org..................$180,000
collecting.co.uk...........$1,700
collecting.org.uk......... $0
collecting.org..............$2,500

Maybe work out the values yourself using DNJournal etc.

I think all popular one word generic .org.uks' can hit xxx at least.

Any automated system dealing with objective data will be highly subjective - and for the most part highly inaccurate...
Plus I don't think they know enough about the .uk market to plug-in figures that reflect the value of our domains!
