I assume that whoever adds links to a parked site would expect them to find them with a related keyword using Google.

Any idea how long it takes for Google to add a domain? And I assume that typing in the actual domain name would at least show up on the first page? Or is that soley for those that pay for the privilege.

Putting links to your domain in a popular forum can get the domain/site spidered quickly and hence listed in google's engine however rankings are not as straight forward.

If your domain is a competitive phase or keyword then it will likely not rank without a good bit of work on backlinks.

Most domains parked at sedo don't get listed in google. Some do tho' I don't know why.

I have found that if you forward the domain to Sedo. Thus, enabling you to enter a title, description and keywords, the majority do get listed in google.

If you just point straight to their nameservers the majority do not get indexed.

I have forwarded quite a few to Sedo and expected them to be listed on Google. I thought there was a colabortion of sorts between Sedo and Google.
Maybe it just takes a while. I suppose I only forwarded the first domain a month or so ago. But even typing in the exact url, Google cannot find them.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information. If your domains are simply parking pages with no history or links chances are they won't be listed let alone ranked.

Indeed, google expects traffic to parked pages to be natural ie. type-in or from existing links. If you're looking for search engine rankings then parking is not the way to go.

Thanks everyone. If they ever end up on Google i'll consider it a bonus :D

I will now also consider using a couple of my catchier domains as informative websites.

The last 3 names I submitted (April) have all been indexed. They are org.uk's so maybe that has something to do with it.

Or maybe I have just been lucky.
