Past expiry, but not suspended

Does anyone know under what circumstances a name can go past its expiry date without being suspended?

If the holder has contacted nominet directly and said they want to renew but there's issues with paying them

eg. remax-results.co.uk expired in 2007 and still not suspended !

Don't know the circumstances but 4 years seems to be taking the P*** a little. There are others but that's the oldest on my list (not that I want it if it did drop).

Could be forever and a day. (though its normally 30 days, plus 60 days suspended the variance between 90 to 92 days to the drop accounts for an exact match to the 3 calendar month to deletion)

I've requested domains to go on-hold due to an enquiry to purchase (with the requester identifying and aware of the drop-date) never followed up by the original enquirer - Yet still on hold months later. In fact I've even gone back to my registration service provider and asked them to re-enter domains on my account (long past the scheduled drop) and renewed. It does hold the renewal to its original accounting due date though.

Fu*ks up my domain lists though because the renewal date from my registration service coincides with the re-entry date . but the true renewal is still the underlying Nominet one
