Good point - didn't know much about krystal but will certainly look them up now.

Came across very very credible, very nice chap and was concerned about his customers. I think they run a tight ship that if you had any problems they would genuinely like to hear about them. A big contrast to those of Host Europe etc in my opinion.

I believe I met a woman from Krystal at a Nominet members lunch in Brighton back in 2005. I think her name was Alex something and she *may* have subsequently been a PAB member but I cannot be sure on that. (from iPhone)

Alex Kells was a Nominet PAB member but I don't know if she had any connection with Krystal.

This is what I'm willing to pay for, and buys my loyalty.

I'm happy to pay a little more for someone who has time for me and my needs.

Tim at EvoHosting has a lot of loyalty built with me for this very reason, I've just signed up with WebHostingBuzz after Matt's presence on this forum and his willingness to help, so next hosting I need will def be looking at Krystal :)

Braided hair? If so perhaps it wasnt Krystal after all. 2005 and my memory is slipping. Oh was nice to see you again, Hazel, since Christchurch 2006! ;) (from iPhone)

Yes, Alex had braided hair. May still do.

Christchurch seems like a lifetime ago. Member lunches. Those were the days :)

PS - apologies for not doing the socialising thing with people I hadn't seen for ages. I thought about staying on after the Roundtable but decided that getting out of London was a necessity if I wasn't going to self-combust in the heat! If I'd stopped for an after-meeting drink I'd probably have missed the last train back to Glastonbury.

Starting the AGM at 1.30pm rather wrecked what used to be a socialising space after the formal meeting in the morning and before whatever 'roundtable' took place in the afternoon. I saw lots of familiar faces - but no spaces to talk to them this year.

That's good to hear Skinner.

We're not Nominet tag holders and unfortunately I couldn't make the event last night. However, I did send feedback at the feedback stage and had my team do similar. I'm thinking of writing a blog post on this (and would welcome some quotes from any ADers if you fancy) as our blog has a decent reach. We do not support .uk

Interesting reading on the atmosphere and the event itself.

Someone from a large University just gone on the mic to say they would be interested in acquiring the equivalent .uk and therefore has asked if Ja.net know about ac.uk not being included in the potential queue.

(from Q10)

where they talking about joining the back of the queue, or jumping the whole queue and being first in line like the ex government domain owners?

does anyone who attended the round table know if the independent newspaper lawyer asked any questions about the reserved names, and if nominet mentioned anything about reserving .uk names?

If the independent had any sense they would be all over it, their target audience is pretty much fitchies/cowleys of the world, so if they started stomping on them, who knows peer pressure could be a player.

How many of the independants readers are going to people of power ?

Its not like they can acquire the .com to escape they are just stitched to .co.uk or prefixing the, which theindependent.co.uk owner will get a nice pay day.

I do believe I've just lost half my cold drink down my nose...

Placed in two groups behind tables and looking a lot like the world’s most depressing episode of University Challenge.

.com as well, outside the UK's jurisdiction and the High Court won't touch it, very smart. Got to have a little smile at myself tonight, especially as their solicitors read this post as some kind of admission that it is my site or operated by me.

As good old Labri Siffre sang, "The Higher you build your barriers, the louder I will sing."

More and more hounds are joining the hunt. The idea they had of people rolling over must be slipping further and further from their tiny little minds.

And I see its already ranking well in google for certain terms i.e.

Yes looks like it was set up on the 15 jul by someone called John Bull which im guessing is a fake name

Thanks for the link to the NominetWatch site. Is this a new site? Looks very interesting - some really good in depth articles giving a lot of information and very good account of that chaotic AGM. to whoever has set this up - Well done.
