Please recommend a good UK VPS and dedicated servers host

I am looking for a managed linux UK VPS with option to upgrade to dedicated at a later time.

Any advice much appreciated.

I'm not sure there is a market for managed VPS's?

I've used Rackspace vps's extensively (unmanaged), mostly the 512Mb / 1024Mb packages as are excellent value at just under £15 per month for the 512Mb package and performance for £15pcm has been excellent. Looking Rackspace do a managed vps to which is new to me http://www.rackspace.co.uk/managed-cloud/ , you pay for it though.

http://www.bytemark.co.uk/ are supposed to be good to. Not used them personally but know someone who works for them and hear good things.

I have a self managed VPS with Bytemark and they are very good - can't say a bad word about their service or servers to be honest.

I am in the process of shifting to a managed VPS though with LayerShift who provide a very reasonable priced managed option. I wont get root access, but still get all the benefits of ssh access whilst not having to dash home on a saturday night from a barby to fix a prob!!

Been with bytemark for 2/3 years now, and can vouch for them

I'm not sure what's happening over @ Rackspace but we had 4 different Rackspace clients move to us since the start of December...

Better options exist.

Does it have to be UK based? We've got lovely cloud based VMs in Dublin
