The Metropolitan Police has today warned the public to be aware of websites selling fake tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The official tickets for next year’s Games are set to go on sale on March 15th, but police are already anticipating a host of bogus websites being set up to scam people looking to snap up the most eagerly anticipated tickets of the year. The Met has now launched “Operation Podium” in a bid to monitor and catch the criminals behind any fake Olympic websites, and also issued the following advice for potential ticket buyers:
