Hi all

I've identified what I think will be a fantasitic niche. Stats as follows for the keyword:

1300 searches per day exact
15000 global matches
495 UK matches (lowest of any niche I have researched)

Both the .co.uk and the .com are parked and for sale (exact keyword match of the domain name) both open to offers.

Question is what do I offer? (What are the chances of the owner not realising the potential of the domain?)

thanks in advance

Steve

Per day... I use market samurai to get the data and its a per day figure:D

I'm at the girlfriends at the moment so not got access to the tool (back on my pc Monday).. but the figures for search volume / competing web pages are as in post 1. The adsense rate was v high but can't remember off the top of my head.

The figures were obviously better on broad and phrase... but the figures quoted above were for exact!!

I've never used Market Samurai, but looking at reviews it seems to source some of its data from the Google tool. So c.39,000 exact search per month certainly looks impressive.

What's the '495 UK matches' figure, number of results on Google?

google tool says 40,500 local monthly search (sept) but the competing web pages is in a graphical form, about a quater filled up with green bar.

How do you see what that is in a number format?

Estimated CPC is £1.09

Found anything out about the owners from the whois? are they on their own tag etc, may indicate what kind of offer they may look at.

Lengthy multi word domain, or short one/two word?

The value is based on so many factors, depends so much on the niche, but if you spot potential, there is nothing to stop you putting in a low-ball offer to test the water...

You may be able to get some comparable sales data from:

It is a three word domain eg. boysmountainbike (its nothing like this btw but you get what i mean)... and the keyword that the figures are for is an exact match for the domain.

The .co.uk TAG is NAMESCO and I can't seem to find one for the .com although it has the registrar listed.

The .org.uk is actually available to reg. If the price of the others turns out to be too much would it be woth snagging the .org.uk?

I've put a cheeky $100 in for the .com but I won't hold my breath!
