Yesterday my 8 month old cat died a horrific death in my arms at the vets after ingesting poison. The Greeks here put poison down sometimes in an attempt to control the feral cat population, but the feral cats know not to eat anything that smells funny. Household cats aren't streetwise, so they'll eat anything.

He basically choked to death, the poor little fella was looking at me with his big eyes and trying to grab my hand with his paws. Yesterday my wife spent the whole day crying and my daughter is inconsolable, and considering she is very ill this is the last thing she needed. I think its horrific they poison animals.

I'm pi**ed off big time. If I ever find the idiot who laid the poison down it'll be the worst day of his life. Not to mention my little cat, although he was just a cat, was my little furry friend. He'd sit beside me all day when I was working on the computer, an affectionate little thing. I'm broken hearted myself. Oh well.

Sorry to hear that mate, I am a cat person and they become part of the family for sure. Cant believe they are allowed to spread poison around like that!

I am really sorry to hear that. :( What bastards they are who have done this. I can understand your feelings totally.

When I lost my last dog not so long ago, at almost 16 years old, I was inconsolable, it was like losing any loved one.

It's not just a cat though, it's a friend, part of your family, like any pet - cat, dog, etc.

I hope you all have a better day today, take care.

Oh my god, that's horrendous. I would be spitting blood, especially because he's so young and so adorable. What the hell is wrong with people?

Really sorry to hear that Stewart :(
I'm more of a dog person myself but know how affectionate and loving cats can be..Hate any kind of cruetly to animals/pets.

sorry to hear that, i'd be feeling exactly same if it happened to my cat.

It sounds very pointless people putting poison down if the street cats know not to eat it!

really sorry to hear that, that is awful
hope karma catches up with whoever responsible, fingers crossed

Thanks guys, its actually made me feel a wee bit better just getting it off my chest. It sounds daft but I spent all day yesterday consoling my wife and daughter, then after they went to bed I sat on the couch and had a wee bubble to myself, I just felt so angry and I couldn't get his little face out of my mind.

I suppose I got really attached to him. :-(

I don't blame you
member of the family at the end of the day, and an innocent
didn't deserve that way to go

I can think of a number of politicians that deserve that though

When I find the guy responsible I'm going to tie him to a bear wearing a suit made out of ham. Thats after I shove a red hot poker up his jacksy.

when I was a kid probably about 12 one of my cats got hit by a car, all i remember was my mum running into the house screaming for me to go get in the car, so i did and she had put our cat in the cat basket and we drove to the vets and the meow that was coming from her was something else, you could tell she was in loads of pain, was the longest drive to the vets 5 mins away ever! was a horrible event and she had to be put down by the vet.

is always good to get stuff of your chest.
