After several years of development, quantum computers by the end of this year or maybe next, will no longer be in the hands of trusted sources and even Googles giant will soon be dwarfed by the Chinese, who are spending more than every other country combined.

It's no longer science fiction, they're on target to be able to mine bitcoin in minutes, and the standard encryption we use for everything else will soon be a thing of the past.

We've been used to speed but will we have to go back to clunky where security is required?

How will this all affect bitcoin, surely it cant handle all these new coins and the quick cash outs to recover development costs, and will web3 domains be even more useless than they are now? Or will they add extra security and be the go to?

I'd like to think the registries like Nominet will secure the system and standard domain names will continue to grow in value, ever the optimist of course.

Can't see anything around about the quantum computing threat, so just wondered if anyone had an opinion as to what may happen?

Acorn seems to have mellowed out of late and a nice feel to it, otherwise I wouldn't be asking you bunch of pain in the backsides about anything 😂

Along with new technology that opens the door for the not so savoury, it also opens the door for increased security to protect against it. I have no concerns.

It wouldnt surprise me if the US gov have quantum computing beyond what they are saying right now, lets face it when something is public knowledge, its already out of date and a mear fraction of what is actually possible. Funny these big 15 year old whale wallets which have never been touched, suddenly coming active and the US paying down large chunks of their national debt ;)
