hey all

I have bin looking into mini sites lately and it seems the best route to go with all this domain money earning lark

I am currently a student studying science and constantly are having to write essays/lab reports etc.

My question is do you think it would be worth setting up mini sites for such reports? Obviously the content will be unquie however some of the stuff is not very well known (it is doubtful people search for alternate methods to photosynthesis for example)

however some do have there niches, (urinal testing could be a good example)

So do you guys think it would be worth the effort? i realise it could depend on content but that will come thick and fast in all areas of science and as i learn it i will be able to determine what exactly is worth putting "out there"

any advice would be great

thanks

just to add to this

anyone think it would be more worth while creating one site that has all the content on it? or a few sites (subject area)

i saw a thread here saying it was much more reliable to create a few great sites rather than 100s of OK ones.

If you don't have domains to develop I would consider going for one domain/site in your position.

thanks for the advice :)

i was considering the one site or multiple site subject route

Will have a bit more of a think!

Another alternative if your good at essays is offer your services for writing content. If your any good you can get a lot of work on here. You could also get other students on the case. Especially the english students.
Selling old essays is also possible if unique content.

i like the idea of selling the content!

possibly one main site with a few freebies and a smallfee for the rest.

few links

by no means a millionaire maker

but profit none the less

Thanks for the advice :)

Setting up a mini site for a science report ... will it be worth it in terms of making money? Probably not. If it's niche science it's unlikely to relate to high paying products and services that can be sold online. However, there might be exceptions, e.g. science of acne treatment, science of weight loss, which could be monetised through AdSense or affiliate programs.

It all depends what your aims are. Are you doing it for the public good of science or to make money? If you want to make money you are better off studying consumer data as follows:

Consumer Trends Data

and looking at search phrase popularity.

thanks for the info :)

there are quite a few areas to cover that will have product saleability from them.

I will check out which i would be able to make some money from and the others I'm quite happy to put up for the good of knowledge and just getting it out there. Fascinating stuff sometimes.

If you give it just a moment's thought, you will surely realise this is not the greatest idea.

Let's say your site gets noticed by an anti-plagiarism group. You then get accused of buying an essay from an Internet site, since they are the same as work you have previously submitted.

I imagine your lecturers would take a dim view of any defence along the lines of - 'oh, it's my site, I'm selling old essays to make a few quid'.

If you're just doing this for fun why not do it as a blog, posting as yourself?

Following boxerdog's post, if you're going the not-for-profit route, Scientifically.org.uk is available to register for a mere fiver :)

i see where your coming from, i imagen they would take a dim view

however on the plagiarism thing, all work has to be submitted now through a scanner, so if anyone did use my work, they would only get caught :D

I am still considering the whole thing, i may just get it all out there and see how it grows :)
