Sold a name Saturday.

Sedo mailed to say they received funds Monday morning. I transferred name Monday (T/fer accepted) and Sedo issue payment notice Monday afternoon.

Money received today. Thank you!

Yeah - I just had a lightning-fast payment from them today. Good stuff!

Just completed a Sedo payment and transfer in around 30 minutes!

Am I right in saying that this is possible when both buyer and seller use PayPal, but not when one or both use bank transfer?

I'm the seller on this one and can confirm the lightning fast transaction. I think Shaun at Sedo must have a hand in this (thanks to him) and for issuing our credit note within the hour. Here is the timeline from our point of view:

11.39 escrow payment received by sedo
11.56 nominet transfer complete
12.25 credit note created by sedo

Thanks to the other Sean for paying so quickly - it seems paypal gets recognised immediately by Sedo whereas bank transfers take 3-5 days.

I paid using PayPal and I was also the buyer so perhaps the seller will be along in a couple of weeks saying how he's not been paid. What seems to help is if you let Sedo's transfer agent (in my case Shaun) know that you understand how the transfer process works and that you're looking for a fast transaction. In our case he was on it from the get go and pushed it through at each of the stages where it could potentially have stalled.

It seems to be about being proactive and communicating rather than sitting back and expecting that things will just happen.

Hi,
Sorry for hijacking this but my issue is related to the the speed of receiving Sedo payments and in my case it's far from quick. It's now tenth day after the payment was allegedly wired to my account but I just spoke with my bank and they still have no trace of it.
It's a Euro payment to an Irish account, if that makes any difference. I know that SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) payments are generally very fast so I don't know what's wrong here. My bank person said they can't trace it as no transaction took place but confirmed that all the details on a Sedo payment screenshot sent to me are correct. Sedo are very slow and terse in their responses to my queries so not sure how to proceed.
Any experience with Sedo payments being this "quick"?
Cheers :)
