Reccomendation please for a good UK based web host that is good value.

Hi , can anyone recommend a good UK web host , something that perhaps usage of say 5 domains , Wordpress etc...

I have seen the £1.00 posted on in this forum , but that is false economics , as it becomes 50.00 a year afterwards.

You can get dirt cheap hosting but you'll regret it as soon as you have any problems.

This is us so I will comment:

- Our cheapest plan is £33/year plus VAT. So £3/month
- We load our servers lightly. Overcrowded servers result in performance problems, slow websites, downtime, etc
- Lets say an average customers per server figure is 3-400
- Said server generates £900-£1200/month at these numbers

That isn't much. This is for a server that costs in the region of £2.5-£3k to buy. Reliable power isn't cheap. Fast bandwidth isn't cheap. Maintaining a 24x7 Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 team is also costly. We also want to run a profitable business and not be one of the fly-by-night disappearing act hosts.

So the false economics is really expecting to pay too little for great hosting. Yes, we can throw on more users per server. But we don't want to be the type of service provider that constantly restricts users on resource limits or causes them problems.

From a service provider's standpoint, Vidahost/TSOHost (same company) are very good. We consider them friends and fully respect them.
