Wanted: Domain Appraisal rentedplace.com & 'part of our investment strategy'

Received an email this morning asking me to name a price on rentedplace.com . My problem is that their email contains the line...

'So Internet names is just a part of our investment strategy.'

I'm sure I've read a post on Acorn somewhere that this phrase in an email indicates a scam? (But can't find it now.)

I would really appreciate any help with this. (The Company is question is Gawab - they appear to be a middle eastern email service provider.)

(a) Anybody dealt with them...or should I avoid?
(b) Any idea of a valuation for this one - .coms are a mystery to me

It is likely a scam...go to namepros.com and search "apraisal scams".

It can't hurt to send them a price, just don't pay for an appraisal if they request one. Tell them you'll subtract their appraisal fees up to a certain amount or something from the sale price.

Also, should it get that far, use a relaible escrow service, like escrow.com or sedo.

Thanks both of you...I emailed this person (Vice President GW Technologies) asking him to make any offers via Sedo...and received a fake 'message undeliverable' response.
