Sold for $7000 on a Pool.com auction this afternoon.

I gave up at $3000 - deemed it a bit risky

Nice Overture tho' IRO 1000

Any thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't have paid more than $1k for it...although there are plenty of people that will...as shown by the final price.

I thought I recognised you as one of the bidders.:D

Overture of 1000 in uk + 200 in de + 100 in fr...etc.

It is risky as The Name King was probably contacted by ryanair before he let it go. Still worth it though, if you have the cash. No doubt about it. 1k+ revenue a month easy.

Personally I didn't even get a chance to bid - the bid page would not open.:(

£1k a month - bleeding hell, I should have had it then.

I was working on the basis that it'd bring in about £5 a day, just short of £2000 a year.

I had a look at all the other possible typos too, they've all gone.

I think my money's better of in my pocket - It was a bit risky.... I think the money is better spent on a nice generic, with no trademark issues

Always beware if an experienced domainer lets a high value TM'd domain drop, they wouldn't let it drop for no reason.

If you think you can make a profit out of it before the C&D arrives then go for it.

As for the £1k a month conclusion, i'd like to know how you came to this figure.

Taking into consideration typos don't usually convert very well and the overture : traffic ratio is sketchy at best I think it's a little high, although it is possible.

The fact that it was dropped would be my main worry though.

2800 views per month for ryainair.co.uk (not mine) with a uk overture of 63 .

the official site is a dot com hence uk overture score for ryainair.com is much higher 800 + with the expansion of the airline and the creation of new hubs in Italy and Germany you will get massive amounts of traffic from these countries.

A conservative estimate is 20000 views per months. I do own some ryanair typos and they have a CTR of between 32 and 44% and EPC of 0.16.

I might be wrong but I estimate a rev of between 0.8k and 1.2k

bugger - another missed opportunity then.

You should have seeen us on Saturday when we got the Congratulations ryainair.com is yours for $60 email - it was only 2 bottles of champagne later I read it properly..... plank!

While we are on the subject of overture scores.

Recently I am getting a "serveur unavailable" msg 9 times out of 10. Does anybody else have the same problem or has my IP address been banned?

Thanks admin.

Atlanta1, if your pockets are deep enough, you can still bid for the domain. Pool have extended the auctions until tomorrow because many of us couldn't access the *place bid* page.

Right - I've got a second chance at this auction - due to the problesm with the pool server yesterday,

Considering "almost" all the other possible alts have gone - is it worth my while going for it.

£1k pr evan EUR1K amonth in revenue is exactly what I need right now, but what are the chances of Ryanair coming back to grab it? I certainly can't afford to loose £7000 or more.

Does anyone know anything about the previous owner?

Cheers

It's a big risk IMO, but having said that I have done a search and the only records of Ryan Air I could find in UDRP or WIPO cases is when they were mentioned in a competitors case.

So it doesn't look on the face of it that they have chased any of the typos in the past (I didn't check Nominet for .co.uk though).

It might be a good idea to get hold of the previous owner if it's possible, or setup an offshore company and just take it ;)

Another nervous day then - I really don't know what to do, I'm not even sure that RyanAir.com is trademarked - there's no TM or R on there website

I'm going to leave it.... I'd be suicidal if the pikey lawyers turned up demanding reccompence.
