A plot by ISP to restrict free Internet Use to pre approved list of websites (likeTV channels) and charging extra to go "outside the matrix"

Not sure if this may have been covered off here before , but I was sent this on Facebook and had a listen and thought I should raise it here.

Secret Plan To Kill Internet By 2012 Leaked?

I suspect its a classic scare story

Cretinous ISPs who want to ensure they are left with the online equivalent of sub-prime would do this, sure. In fact I think BT have mooted the point a few times as they get fed up of having to pay for the bandwidth used by things such as iPlayer.

But any ISP in the UK to try this seriously would have people leaving at the first opportunity.

As with "unlimited" bandwidth limits, customers have moved and will continue moving whilst ISPs play silly beggars.

If they all did it, then we'd be back to the modern equivalent of dial up, or private satellite networks etc.

Surely something like this would attract fierce opposition from Google et al - search engines would become next to useless if people could not visit the sites in the results.
