Sedo Buy Now price

Hello

If sedo has a Buy Now price for a domain. Does this mean the seller is obliged to accept the sale or do they have wiggle room to use this as a starting point for more price negotiation ?

I don't want to commit to buy only to have renegotiate?

If there's a buy now button then in theory they are legally bound to sell the domain at that price.

Yes but as you know with sedo that's never the case as if they decide they don't want to sell then it will be cancelled with no action taken

Leave it as "make offer" if you want to negotiate. You will be able to use the offer as a starting bid and start an auction. Or you could counteroffer. Setting it at BIN will close the sale and the buyer will make payment right away and you will be asked to transfer it.

Buy now means nothing at sedo. I talk as someone who has used the feature a few times in the past... I didn't get a single domain.

I'm led to believe it means nothing either. Not that I bother, I've wanted to buy a few domains in the past but because no stipulation on the .uk is made, I don't risk it by clicking a button that contractually obliges me to pay! Had similar from a well known investor too; allows purchase via website but doesn't state anywhere that they then register the .uk for themselves prior to releasing the .co.uk!
