Sedo French Traffic

When I access a Sedo parked page from France I get a message saying that it's displaying a generic portal page in accordance with French law.

Can Sedo please explain the limitations for French traffic?

Sedo has had problems with the French legal system, which is very anti-domainer.

There has been at least one case where Sedo had substantial damages against them for ads displayed on a parking page.

Hi,

In order to better respond to specific legal requirements in French-speaking markets, we switched our domain parking layouts to a custom 2-click system there. Since the 29th of January, all Sedo parking pages called from France have shown a custom portal page. By clicking on one of the categories displayed on this portal, users see ads matching the category on which they have clicked.

Our customers there have actually benefitted from several advantages - recent tests have shown that a 2-click system can show better results than a classic landing page with ads and it is no longer necessary to optimize keywords or templates for French traffic. All non-French traffic has been unaffected by these changes.

I can also say that we were not forced to implement this solution by a French Court. This was our own decision, and we think it is the right one.
