I got an email today for the 'premium' auction, all very good, encouraging people to check out the listings.

The problem is that I received it after the auction had finished.

Talk about shutting the gate when the horse has bolted. What a massive cock-up, who is responsible for their marketing? they should be ashamed of themselves. That email should have been scheduled to reach peoples in-boxes with a minimum of 8 hours before the end of the auction.

Did anyone else get it? was it before 5pm uk time?

I got the same email at 7.15pm, over 2 hours after the auction finished.

It looks like it was "sent" at 3.01pm then held up somewhere in Sedo's mail system for 4+ hours before it actually got sent out to the mailing list.

Total shambles and very harsh on the sellers in the auction, but not unexpected, as I think the last couple have also been delayed.

Got mine at 5:12pm GMT.

On a positive note I was pleased to see that the email I (eventually) received was targeted with .uk domains.

I was not so pleased that when I tried to bid on a domain in the auction that my bid was not accepted as my address had “… an invalid zipcode” – I’ve raised a support ticket for this.

The "invalid zipcode" thing happened to me too trying to place a bid on a name a few days ago - the Sedo system had deleted my "town" and replaced it with the second half of my postcode, so the address was invalid when I tried to bid

My address in my Sedo account read: Name, Street, 2ND, 1ST, UK.

I changed it in my account details then submitting a bid was fine, but it was a bit odd.

I think they (Sedo) are all over the shop atm to be honest.

Thanks Ty, my address and postcode looks fine in the control panel and appeared correctly formatted in the sales/contract note. I don’t think I’m suffering from the same issue you experienced.

My ticket was raised today, just after the Premium Auction closed - hopefully should be relatively easy for tech support to fix.

Got it at 15:09 and read it a moment ago.

Bulk emails always get spread out over a number of hours in an effort to avoid getting tagged as spam but as you say, this one was a bit too late for most people.

I get the same from affiliate networks - telling me about some limited sale that happened yesterday!

After being frustrated that I could not bid on ANOTHER domain name I did a bit of experimenting and the following morning I modified my postcode from ‘XXXYYY’ to ‘XXX YYY’ and can now place bids on domains – seams the space is a required character.

I modified my case that morning to a simple ‘is it fixed’ question. Sedo have now responded and closed my ticket as of 08:18 today.
