Server sharing for SEO

I like many of you own my own dedicated web server and have upwards of 20 small sites running on it. I would like to interlink a few but the benefit of this is reduced as they are all from the same ip.

One solution would be to swap space on someone elses web server on an informal basis. You can host a site on my web server if I can host on yours? I prefer only simple html or asp.net sites as that's what im running on my web server.

I find it makes no difference, but it may vary depending on the site. Why not just buy a cheap justhost account or simular shared hosting (they are fast and unlimited) and host a few sites their?
