Setup a site before you have it?

Who here has started setting up a site well before they know they have the domain caught?

You've been so sure you'll get it for what ever reason you've set the hosting up, installed maybe wordpress and started adding content ready for the second it dropped into your lap.

How many have done it and you've not got it?
How many have done it and feels good it was all there waiting?

I've done it a few times and have always known I'd get the domain with it been a off the wall or localised domain to me.

Waste of time, what if you don't get the name?

It's quick enough to catch, host and build in the same day. I wouldn't risk it.

It's always been buggers luck to think you own a name before you actually do, only to see it go to someone else.

I often start creating daily content for a domain ages before I settle on the right name!
