Site down! Will google slap me?

The idiots who once upon a time built me a website, have decided to simply remove my site from their servers.

Site has around 6k indexed pages and gets around 10-15k organic traffic each month.

No notice, nothing, just deleted it. Lucky for me I took a back up however going to be 24-48 hours before it is back up.

Will google give me a slap?

Google wont have a problem with that at all.

If anything it could help you.

If you have that many pages indexed and showing in results, you will have about the same submitted by sitemap but not indexed.

I wouldn't be surprised if you gain a few thousand indexed pages, they will probably drop off again if nothing special though.

I wouldnt worry about that amount of time. Quite a few hosts often have down time longer than that!!

Not one to disagree, but I have a site that gets 300K+ pageviews a day and when we had problems for about 48 hours we took a 17% drop for about a month.
