does anyone know if there is a free sitemap generator about.

ive found a few that only do upto 500 pages but im sure there must be one or a way to get a full sitemapped generated for free.

I use xml-sitemaps.com, first one in google for xml sitemap. But like you say it's limited to 500 pages which i've never found a problem.

If your site is more than 500 pages and you don't know xml, you could use one of the free ones then just follow the template and add the other pages. Granted that would take ages if you have many more than 500 pages

xml-sitemaps.com is the one I too using for my websites. They have a limitation of 500 links per sitemap other wise we should upgrade. Any way I do not understand the need for having more than 500 links in a single sitemap. It is better we should divide the sitemap and create smaller ones. Google too recommend sitemaps with limited number of links, not a very big one.
