Im not up to date with the latest phones and my contract runs out in a couple of days where I get a free upgrade. So I currently have an HTC HD2 the 1ghz 4.3 screen jobbie. What do you recommend?

Ive heard the galaxy S2 MK3 is due out shortly should I wait for that.

Cheers

When I last looked at smartphones a few months ago, it was the Samsung Galaxy S2 vs the Apple iPhone 4S, I must have another look, but I expect manufacturer wise those two are still leading. The SGS2 is a very good all round phone with a few minor niggles, but I reckon Apple would edge it on sheer user experience.

I have loved iphones since they were released.

Have not tried anything else so cant compare.

Thanks last time I had an iphone I think it was an iphone3g and never really liked it. Too small and could not change the battery to carry a spare so would be dead by about 7PM each day.

When I had an iphone I actually had to carry two phones everywhere just because of battery not being changeable.

Not really keen on an iphone and don't think the new one is due till sept. So dont want to be stuck for two years with an older generation 4S.

Never tried android phones but would still suggest to have a play with iPhone. 4s is fast, screen is fantastic, perfect for web. Battery life is ok, can always get external battery something like this http://www.alldeals.co.uk/show/£14-...-you-iPhone-4-run-out-of-battery-juice-2.html
Will hold it's re-sale value even when new one comes out, can always add a bit of cash and upgrade. Don't think it will be that tempting as the current one is pretty good for everything, as is the new ipad

If you want the very latest features wait a month or so until the new HTC phones hit the market. Ideally you want something with the near field technology and possibly 4g not sure if the latter has hit the uk market yet. At this moment the galaxy s2 or the galaxy nexus are about the best about but there's bunch of new handsets imminent.

Apparently this is the next fruit base phone. They've called it the iBrick. No internet, no angry birds. Just good old retro push-buttons with handy 1 function ringtone.

Ok seems the SG S2 is not that much better then my HD2. So I installed the latest gingerbread rom on it instead of my old winmo and it's quite snappy. So I think I will just use that for a few months until the SG S3 comes out. Plus icecream sandwich should run ok on my HD2.

Assuming the battery life is good (not so sure with quad-core processor) this would take some beating >> http://www.htc.com/uk/smartphones/htc-one-x/#specs

IMO the Samsung phones (even the high end S2 etc) do not feel like a quality product in your hand. Furthermore their Android overlay is clunky, full of long cuts and definitely not as slick as HTC sense.

Great specs on that, will have to go in a shop and touch some. Sadly as I have just installed my first Android o/s Im now addicted to angry birds :(

Just an update I bought a Galaxy Note in white as we all know bigger is better ;)

Cheers Chaps.
