Social networking site software.

Hey,

I'm looking for some software to construct a social networking site.

It needs to be flexible and more importantly scalable, with the ability to include video, music and other arts-related files at some point.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, either for free or proprietory software.

Have a look through the listings at HotScripts.com for some inspiration. I suspect for the better options, you'll have to pay out for them though...

Thanks for the tip. Some interesting stuff on there. As for paying... well, the site I'm working on looks to be doing well so if it means spending a bit to take it to the next level... well, I'll have to overcome my inherent tightness. That cliche about Yorkshiremen is very true...

vBulletin has some Myspace-type mods, and they work pretty well...

ive been looking at the same thing recently too, and had come across a good one, that is ad free and cost free too

only problem that i've been encountering is that the server has to have "safe mode off" for myphpsql details, can be a bit frustrating as you upload 17megs worth of files to create the community, and follow the installation instructions, but it's useless if your hosting is managed as safe mode on - spoke to my hosting guys and they wouldnt turn it off. Helpfull lot.

Anyways heres the link www.boonex.com its the dolphin ad free package thats the thing you're looking for - you can also get "ray" which is ad free too, and has apps like live chat etc.
