I am getting about 600+ bounced emails a day from two .net domains I own...

graduateloan.net

fasterloan.net

Someone is sending spam from them, any Ideas how I can stop it?!

Cheers

Matt

The headers will probably be faked with your domain names as the sender/reply address. The most you can really do is turn off your catch-all email so that you don't get the stuff thats bouncing back.

In your account, set up the accounts you use, I did this on cpanel. For instance set up account [email protected] with username and password, got into outlook, set up that account, job done, you'll only ever download email from the server when it's addressed [email protected], all other email will get naturally deleted at 30 days by the host.

If however you're getting spammed on the one user account, wel others will have an answer for that.

I see they're parked, yes turn off catch all, use only one account to be contacted on, and return all other email with a note 'contact me on [email protected]' I think you can do that on 123reg but you'd know telivo better than me.

Just as a matter of interest who were the domains regged with... a colleague has just started getting this issue. The domains were regged with lowcostnames.

But, as above. just set up a blackhole for all non recognised emails. Also a new thing is to add an SPF record to the DNS. That way only domains originating from a particular server can use the @domainname.tld

I usually try and suss out exactly who the spam is advertising for, find their email address and then point the domains at that email address. They soon get the message, hopefully.

All the spam is coming from fake Myspace type emails

I have deleted catch all on both a few days ago

Still getting the bounces, they may be just the back end of a massive send out I guess

Anyone know how they can do this though?
