Speed limit on Whois ?

Hopefully wont get suspended from whois servers Do you know if I can get a hard copy (on disc) of the WHOIS database as this would save me alot of time in the future if i get more lists?

You won't get suspended if you obey the rules.

Incidentally, the term 'hardcopy' literally means a printout, and not something stored on electronic media.

Doesn't exist - that question is a frequently asked one, but the answer is always the same. Nominet doesn't release the information, and there's no longer any way to compile that information independently. Last time a database was released was, I believe, around January 2003...

Nominet don't look kindly to 'data mining' of their database. Nominet's terms state that you should not get listings of whois states from nominets database in order to make this available in any form.

Making a list for own benefit is one thing, getting it from or giving it to is another.
