Yes, you're right. It is.

However, Stanstead is a very common misspelling. If you ask people, at least 50% will spell it wrong - try it

To put things in perspective, we have another domain name with the word Stanstead in it as a misspelling and have made several thousand pounds in type-in traffic to it.

Yes, true. It can be confusing for people because other similar place names are spelt with an 'e' (e.g. Hampstead).
