Stop me making a mistake...before I buy a FTR domain

As you can see I'm new to this so wanted to ask for some friendly (or not) advice.

I have found a FTR domain which I can see a use for:
Global monthly = 74,000
Local = 22,000 with CPC of £0.63p

I'm looking at the .co.uk- the .com is currently in use by a US company. Their site looks like a squeeze page, defo an affiliate though and its powered by incomeactivator//com

So, how do I check the domain isnt a trademark, copyrighted etc or that I'm generally treading on someones toes

Have a look on trademarkia and ipo for starters. Even if it isn't TM is there an alternative name so you can have the com?

The GKT numbers are "exact"

Just been having a look round and the plural (.com and .co.uk) are both taken my a domainer/developer-so maybe not such a find as I first thought as the site could esaily be replicated using one of those domains.
