My catcher didn't catch a domain today, however doing a whois on that domain now shows it's available. I assumed that maybe someone else caught it and then deleted it? So I looked into my logs and discovered this:

29/04/08 14:43:24 - listedhouse.co.uk,Y,N,Y,2000-01-21,2008-01-21,4,NETBENEFIT
29/04/08 14:43:25 - listedhouse.co.uk,Y,N,Y,2000-01-21,2008-01-21,4,NETBENEFIT
29/04/08 14:43:26 - Sent following Command to DAC: listedhouse.co.uk
29/04/08 14:43:26 - listedhouse.co.uk,Y,N,N,2000-01-21,2008-01-21,4,NETBENEFIT
29/04/08 14:43:26 - listedhouse.co.uk has been taken by someone else

So according to my logs the domain came out of suspension before becoming available. Is this common as I've not noticed this before.

Thanks to anyone who may be able to shed some light on this.

I dont see anything strange about this. As far as I can see your script never saw the N from the logs you've posted.

Hi Afx,

No, the response from the DAC should have been:

listedhouse.co.uk,N

but it was this:

listedhouse.co.uk,Y,N,N,2000-01-21,2008-01-21,4,NETBENEFIT

Ok I see your point, I missed the final N in the logs you posted. Must admit I've never seen this in my logs.

David,

I can't answer your question, but I feel I must ask the obvious one.

If you were trying to catch it why is it still unregistered 2 days later?

What is it that makes it no longer worth registering if it was worth adding to a drop list?

Is it just the thrill of the catch (I sometimes think I'm guilty of that !)?

Dave

Hi Dave,

Good question! My script stops once the suspended status changes to N.

Two reasons I didn't register after I discovered the problem:

1) I was mainly testing the waters with my new script, so was going for less competitive domains.
2) It's not a domain I would try selling but was thinking I could maybe develop into a minisite. I've since got more than enough domains to develop for the next few weeks.

Hi David - I came across this thread and liked the name, because you didn't register it - I did :???:

But to be fair if you change your mind and do want it let me know and I'll let you have it for reg fee.
