What fools were bidding on this? Bidding on a .uk is one thing, but bidding on an obvious TM is bonkers and there is nothing else you could possibly use it for!

Sun Bingo themselves DID NOT want to register it. That is how it became available in the first place.

I guess there hoping to leave undeveloped and sun bingo come and buy it of them given it does use a generic term unless they abuse the registration putting an affiliate site on it or something I doubt they would loose the name.
Not something I would go after but my guess would be maybe that's what there thinking.
Other than that could you get away selling holidays in vegas come play bingo in the sun ? might be defensible but still why give yourself the hassel
