There’s a warning that 45,000 social network users could have been targeted by a so called worm virus designed to steal log-in details.

Such online viruses have been spread in the past as an infected attachment to an email. When opened, the virus installs and, as well as causing malicious damage and exploiting security flaws, attempts to spread again by using email systems present on the computer to send itself to the contacts in the users address book.
