I think this name would have big trademark issues,

I think the taser trademark would now have been overcome.
I think Taser could be argued that it has now become generic and therefore can't be protected by trademark law.
I think you'll be o.k with it, although i'd still expect nominet to roll over on it, if they went to drs,
