I think for £xx,xxx names the .uk and .co.uk will have to be sold as a pair. Who is going to buy the prestige .co.uk, knowing that their competitor could buy the .uk?

Selling them separately reduces the appeal/value of them both.

So the options would be:
1. Combined .uk/.co.uk (at a premium)
2. .org.uk

The same as now.

There are so many good FTR .org.uk domains it makes me wonder what value they hold now too? I'm talking single or multiple keyword domains that get thousands of searches with £10+ CPC being available in org.uk...

If we're talking about use by "real" businesses as opposed to pure affiliate/SEO plays i.e. use for the main website of a business then I think once .uk comes in there will be far less interest in the .org.uk than there is now (and there's VERY limited interest at present).

If all that's needed is a bit of SEO juice for a quickie throwaway site, then it doesn't really matter whether it's the second best or third best extension.

http://www.domainprices.co.uk/ only has 97 .org.uk sales listed (and incidentally 5 .me.uk sales) vs close to 4,800 .co.uk domain sales.
