There's a strangely delusional train of thought that seems to crop up again and again, on all the main domain forums. It goes something like this...

1. Hey, example.co.uk sold for 100,000 pounds

2. So therefore... poorexample.co.uk must be worth at least 10% of that (i.e. 10,000 pounds)

3. And therefore... A1poorexample.co.uk must be worth at least 10% of that (i.e. 1,000 pounds)

4. But hey (insert big drum roll here) that means that... A1poorexample.info/.org.uk/org/blah/bleurgh must be worth at least 10% of that (i.e. 100 pounds)

5. But let's gamble a bit and see what the market will bring (Resultant post: "The super duper gold plated AAA rated premium domain name A1poorexample.blah is for sale for just 500 pounds!!! A fabudabulous bargain since example.co.uk sold for 100,000 pounds!!!?!???!#####!!**!")

NOTE: In the above delusion game, bonus points can be scored by the seller if they painstakingly lay out their "valuation logic" :)

I've been realistic recently,

Designersunglasses;com apparently sold for something like $21,000 yet I know that I will only get what an end user is willing to pay for my Designeraftershaves.com

As Bedroomfurniture;co;uk sold for something like £18,000 but my Frontroomfurniture.co.uk will sell for god knows what ?

It's a buyers market 100%

Lol Edwin,

Then there's the related but not dissimilar:

..
CoversDuvet.co.uk is valued by Estibot at $13,000. See the valuation here: http://www.estibot.com/appraise.php...4310bd51af43420edb22&domain=coversduvet.co.uk

Once in a lifetime opportunity, 2,090,000 results in Google for Covers Duvet!!

Looking for a quick sale, so will accept offers in the low to medium £x,xxx range.
..

[Note to all: It's currently unregged & that is the Estibot valuation]

If I was admin on here I'd ban any member that mentioned goddam estibot :)
