Paul Keating

Thanks for sharing, glad to see Paul Keating got a mention, as he has worked a lot in front and behind the scenes in .uk consultation to get a debate and answers from Nominet.

I am grateful to John Berryhill, MJ Keukelaar, Paul Keating, and Zak Muscovitch for generously sharing their expertise and feedback, and for fighting for the rights of domain registrants even when we aren’t aware that they are watching our backs.

end of the “domain industry”

Just finished reading all of the comments and the last one posted today stood out;

If this decision stands, is it the end of the “domain industry” as far as domain investors or domain resellers are concerned?

All we need now is the .uk decision from Nominet to make it, "the day it all changed!"

Enjoy the weekend.

The elephant in the room if you relate this decision to .uk is whether a different set of T&C's will be applied to .uk. It's perfectly feasible for Nominet to do this, being a TLD rather than SLD. Something to be mindful of.

Thanks for cheering us all up!

Will this mean domains are quickly renewed for much longer periods, such that the next renewal date is eg 10 years away? Or an I missing something...
