Hi folks

Having spoken to Nominet I now have a good understanding of the process that you have to go through when selling a .uk domain, including their fees etc.

Can anybody please point me in the right direction for the process for others like .com, .org, .info or .net

Is it just a case of changing the 'tag' or is there anything else either I as the seller or the buyer will need to do?

Apologies for the basic question.

There are no "tags" for .com/net/org/info.

Instead, you either have to "push" the domain name from one registrar account to another (e.g. GoDaddy User A->Godaddy User B) if the registrar supports it - not all do - or you have to "unlock" the domain name, obtain an "Auth Code" and supply that to the buyer.

The buyer would then use the Auth Code to request a transfer from the registrar of their choice. You approve the transfer and the domain name leaves your registrar and winds up in theirs, and in their name/under their control.

Hope that helps.
