This news is probably the worst news for this domain. I'd really worry about the trademark issues here. You would need to make the site something completely different to what Mr Cowell is doing.
Crazyhos would have to prove it as been a TM in use since 2007, he would probably win except he as just publicly connected it with Mr Cowells announcement
I dont think there are currently any tm issues as they havent trademarked wgt.
I bought the domain to set up a talent website in 2007, I also bought a worldslimming domain to set up an international slimming site but havent had time, the intention is/was there though.
To be fair as soon as Mr C anounced the show my domain was going to be associated with it as it was such big news - thats his fault not mine!
On a serious note - would it not make a good fan site, youtube vidoes and things like that - I doubt that would cause a problem and it would be a traffic machine while the show was on?
You did reg before the announcement but I would seriously consider not associating it with Mr Cowell, think of it this way how much would it be worth without the show = £0
You should simply have aff banners and Adsense on there for online casting agencies and get it ranked for the term 'the worlds got talent'
That's my advice, upto you if you don't listen but you could be digging yourself a hole
Stick some sort of dating/modelling site on it will lady talent from across the world , then if Mr C he wants the domain, he can buy it off you as you're not infringing on talent shows etc
