Are they really a bunch of cowboys...?

4 times now, ive reg'd a domain with them, 4 times theyve had to refund me. once cos the spanish registry said no, the rest cos the domain was already registered.

you do a search on their site for availablr domains. it comes back available. you reg and pay. 6 hours later they say its unavailable and that theyre refunding you...

absolute joke.

why let you reg and pay ??

what really pisses me off is that i tried to reg xxx.es with them in october and they wouldnt allow it. the domain was subsequently regd by someone in luxembourg in november and sold for 000's on sedo.

today, i reg'd win.es, only to be refunded hours later. ok, so its gone but why say its available and take someones money in the first place??

And you are certain it wasnt a database issue at the registry because you checked with another company that the domain was free?

I always check with the WHOIS server directly, I never trust a registrar. Some show business.co.uk as available, some show impossible to register names available also (1.co.uk as an example).
