Tip: Plugin to notify of Wordpress Updates (Core/Theme/Plugins)

In light of the Reuters Wordpress blog getting hacked this week (due to out of date WP installation), I thought I'd share this plugin with you all. Apologies if you use it already or have another solution in place.

Basically 'WP Updates Notifier' will send you an email to alert you whenever your Wordpress site installation, theme(s) or plugin(s) have updates available.

You can even schedule when the site is checked and whether or not you wish non-admins to see that there are updates available.

It's rather darn good

Word fence does the same and also notifies of any changes to core WP files.
