Hello,
do you think there is a problem with registering a website that contains the words national lottery & gives information etc about the national lottery.

There seem to be a few around: national-lottery com / nationallotteryresults biz / thenationallottery org / etc.

Aren't these potentially in breach of the trademark?

Thanks.

I would suggest you stay clear.

Why?

The other sites don't seem to be having any problems.

Because someone else gets away with it, doesnt mean you will you, as a domainer that first black mark on your name is the worst of all of them.

One of the people I do business with, is currently being nailed to a cross by an italian super car company, but I know someone else who has about 5 names of the same car company, and has dozens of affiliate links selling polish, wax, cockpit spray, alloy wheel cleaner etc abd has had them about 2 years.

Roll the dice if you wish but I personally wouldnt.

p.s. If you don't intend on moneytising it, then no problem but soon as you moneytise it, you could be in deep do do.

Even if the monetisation is the national lottery affiliate scheme?

Its 50/50 if they would accept you.

Most affiliates (if you have Aff Window look thru them), most ban you from bidding on their keywords or from registering their brand name domains.

I would ask them BEFORE you do.

Thanks skinner.

I wouldn't trust them even if they said yes :)

Maybe I'll set it up unmonetised and then use a cunning trick.
