Anyone had experience of releasing a name to GOOGLE Tag?

Keep being rejected without explanation.

Google Domain support are blaming the sending Tag for rejecting the names!

Not sure if this is a temporary issue or whether others have had problems and know workarounds.

Generally a bounce is because the associated name / email doesnt correspond to the account it's going into isnt it ? They dont know what account to associate it with.

Yes, I did think that too and initially the Registrant's email wasn't the Google account's email, but still rejected with matching email.

Instructions say to change IPS Tag before doing anything else.

  1. At the current registrar, make sure the Registrant contact email address for the domain is correct and that you have access to it. To verify and complete the transfer, we will send a message to this address.

Are you getting this email even?

I'm just getting an email from Nominet saying release was rejected:

Your request to release the 2 domain names

Domain Name|Registration Status|Expiry

to the tag

GOOGLE

has not been accepted by that tag. The domain names have not been transferred and
remain upon your tag.

Google's instructions are:

To begin, visit your current registrar and change the registrar/IPS tag to GOOGLE. Then check your email for further instructions.

So that's why I'm probably not getting that email you get - the names aren't ever on Google's Tag to generate it.

Really strange.

Not my week. GoDaddy accepted a name late October but are telling the new Registrant it still is with the old Registrar (me!).

Are you doing two at once ? They say to do one at a time ?

Right! That could be it! Thank you! I'll try that :)

looking better - no instant rejection.

You should get a job working for Google :)

.co.uk accepted :)

I know why .uk was rejected. It says on website:

We don't support this top-level domain, please check back later!

Well that's odd? Surely if they supported .CO.UK they'd easily be able to support .UK too?

There is something odd about .uk domain names. You would think they would be the same as .co.uk, etc., but maybe not.

Just in case I'm missing something, but what is the benefit of using google? tia

I don't use them myself: it's a client. Not sure they will be any better / different to other Registrars. Pricing seems okay.
