After attending last night's Domain Sponsor dinner I'd better say "hello" as well as "Thank you for the food and drinks, Jörg, James and DomainSponsor".

I've got a background as a geneticist and bioinformatician in the Human (and other organisms) genome projects - I write programs that look for patterns and evolving development (so searching drop lists is a bit of a forte).

Not sure about a best domain of the ca. 500 I own - which are almost all .com, but worst .co.uk is definitely pornpictures.co.uk (if only because it's linked to me and my name - but not photos or videos, I hasten to add).

Welcome .... Don't think I got a chance to say hello the other night

brum: I don't think I did either, but I've only managed to guess about three of the faces I did meet from the member names here. Perhaps next time we should have those on the name badges as well!

accelerator Thanks for the welcome! Just because of prior history, it was always C++, Perl and R - although there's a lot more Java and (script) and Python coming in now. I'm nowhere near good enough to produce secure php. To just produce a search heuristic that's a genetic algorithm on my own virtual server I'll use whatever gets the job done.
