Hi all,

What is the equivalent of Godaddy for UK domains auction?

Are there any services centrally managed by UK registrars offering expiring .uk domains?

Thanks!

Nope because it's not allowed by Nominet

Thanks Takwa. Out of interest, why would nominet not allow auctioning?

Are they the only UK authority that determine how domains are sold/bought?

Godaddy is not a central authority in .com.

However, it has such a dominant position (something like 40% of all .com domains) that it may at times seem like an "authority" but in actual fact the expiring .com market is fragmented, with names being auctioned via Godaddy, SnapNames, Pool, Namejet, Tucows etc. etc.

Something to do with anti-cybersquatting and previous owner's protection.

anyway you can find out more on nominet's website
