Hi guys

Im looking for a new hotel affiliate to use, im currenly using laterooms but i want to try someone else as it doesnt seem to be converting as well as thought,

Anyone using anyone good they can suggest, whats the cookie life in them if you use them?

cheers

also interested in this - specifically after summer and winter [ski] type stuff.

anyone?

I'm a big fan of laterooms, however, it was only a couple of weeks ago I tried to book a few rooms for a couple of nights myself.

Followed our aff link, it's allowed and thought why not earn commission should I find the right hotel etc

So I found a hotel right in the centre of Lourdes and booked a couple of rooms. I entered all the information even to the point of paying for it and doing the MasterCard secure section. It then said where I was expecting confirmation. Sorry rooms no longer available. If I still want this hotel please call etc etc

So if I had called I would have not got any commission. Maybe this is happening more than we could ever tell ? They could be getting the bookings and the affiliate nothing.

Good news was a couple of clicks and found same rooms on Expedia.

I wonder if Colin from laterooms has any data on the amount of booking that went to checkout and failed due to availability?

Try Expedia lol

Laterooms.com
Booking.com
Expedia.co.uk

I'd suspect those three convert the best if you are forwarding people to their booking engines.

I did try asking for data on which pages the visitors were going to after they went to laterooms but i didn't get the data. only how many people clicked through and how many sales and conversion rate.
I checked with how many visitors i know where sent to laterooms but the numbers didn't add up so i don't think everything got tracked.
Plus someone i know booked through me and got confirmation but the sale didn't show up. another bad point i told them about but got no answer.

Might be worth trying someone else and seeing what happens.

Hotels.com

I was reading about a company called Agoda on Adsense Flippers, apparently there is no need for affiliate links, they have a 12 month cookie and they pay really good commission. It seems to have hotels worldwide so may be worth checking out, here is the link to the article

Agoda is good for Asia but I haven't found it converts too well for European destinations. Expedia is pretty poor conversion IMO, but Booking.com consistently does well - though the revenue share is a bit lower than some other programs the higher conversion rate does balance it out. Agoda and Booking.com are both owned by priceline, I think I have seen features tested on Booking.com move over to Agoda so their conversion might improve.

This is also quite interesting on hotel conversion rates:
