UK postcodes Database

Hi All,
i am looking for the database of UK postcodes and also a facility to show "miles from" each postcode to certain services/people similar to how autotrader.co.uk do it.

Has anyone ever used such software or know where i should look for it.

years ago before getting into domains I obtained a file of UK postcodes from a warez, which has long gone. I think you would need a GPS (or long/lat) linked postcode file for miles between x & y. This must be purchasable from royal mail but if its freely available, I too would be intrested.
