Please post and contact all members as soon as possible please. This is an extremely serious issue subject to legal action.

Just been contacted by a colleague.

Warning Please Read - Affiliate Marketing

Today some one made a false 123 reg account under the name Adam Davis and some how got into my 123 reg account and transferred my domains into theirs

They also have emailed members of a4u asking if they would like to buy them my domains.

This is a warning to make sure when you buy a domain name make sure you really no who the owner is and also do a who is lookup.

So if you are offered the following domains please immediately contact Elliott Knapp ( [email protected] )

moneyloanuk.co.uk
ps3-consoles.co.uk
findhotels.co.uk

Other domains to follow as soon as 123-reg inform him of stolen domains. :!:

Just given heads up of this thread to someone involved with 123 reg so fingers crossed they have a nose as well

I'll get an update from Elliott when I am back at my normal computer late tonight. Should have a full list of affected domains then that he's lost.

It's one problem with the new nominet system in my view. It's all but perfect in every other area apart from the fact that if someone can hack a third party system and change the contact email address on a name. Then they can change owenrship through nom's system on a password reminder option.

That's a nice ending then. Anything going to happen to the thief?

That'll be a matter for Nominet and the domain holder I would assume. Not my brief fortunately.

I thought the transfer of UK domains was impossible without the original owners written confirmation.. I know the process has been digitised, but surely the legal owner remains the legal owner even after inter-registry transfer.

Glad it worked out in the end.. though.
