Hi,

I was just wondering if it is possible/ legal or common practice to use pictures from the like of Pinterest, TripAdvisor etc on your website as long as you credit the person (user) and the site under the picture used?

My view is don't do it unless you have permission.

If you are an affiliate of a merchant, and you are using the merchant's images to promote that merchant, that's usually ok.

As a general rule, if you are using other people's photos to make money when they aren't getting any money from you, they won't be happy about it.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Reading the article on the blog it seems bonusmedia is right. Creative commons images should be okay to use as long as you credit and link to the member. The lady in the blog uses a picture of a camera and has this under it "Image: Ginnerobot via Flickr."
